A. Duie Pyle opens up new facility in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania

-

Earlier this week, Westchester, Penn.-based freight transportation and supply chain services provider A. Duie Pyle announced it opened up a new Camp Hill, Pa.-based service center. The company said that this represents its first 2025 expansion, bringing the total number of its facilities to 31.

The new service center is located at 475 Terminal Street, Camp Hill, PA. Company officials said that the facility will “extend customer access to Pyle’s LTL services” and is comprised of 85 LTL (less-than-truckload) service center doors on 11 acres. They added that the service center is in the process of a refresh, for its offices, dock doors, and fleet maintenance facilities.

What’s more, it is in close proximity to off I-83 and US-11 and Pyle noted that the facility added 35 drivers, 18 dock workers, five fleet technicians and six leaders, for 64 new jobs. And by the end of this year, it said that the Camp Hill service center is pegged to have more than 150 employees, with Pyle continuing to focus on optimizing its terminal network to support new business growth.

“Opening a facility in Camp Hill strengthens our significant footprint in the Northeast, allowing us to maintain our commitment to delivering top-tier service and solutions,” said John Luciani, COO of LTL Solutions at Pyle, in a statement. “With increased operational capacity in the region, we are well-positioned to meet evolving customer demands, drive local economic growth and create new opportunities for the community and the Pyle team.”

Luciani told LM that this A. Duie Pyle’s decision to open up this new service center was what he called an opportunistic purchase with the demise of Yellow/New Penn.

“We have been tight on capacity in our existing York Service Center and had plans to mitigate the congestion (which we are still moving forward with) but when the Camp Hill terminal became available, given the location and proximity to the interstate highway system, we opted to purchase,” he explained.

When asked what the main benefits of the Camp Hill service center are for Pyle’s shipper customers, Luciani noted that building additional door capacity in the Pyle network will help to support central PA customers, as well as consolidation and pool shippers that move freight out of and into the northeastern U.S. region.

Prior to opening up this service center, Luciani said that, Pyle serviced this territory out of York, PA. And from a competitive perspective, for Pyle, he said that this service center builds additional capacity that supports the company’s Integrated Business Strategy of LTL, Warehouse & Distribution, and Dedicated service offerings.
